Lowndes's underlying premise is that women are desperately attempting to get men's attentions whenever in public, but she really sticks to bars and clubs to be with her examples. Lowndes's writing style and voice usually do not help this audiobook. Her raspy and deep voice brings images associated with an older, cigarette-smoking woman, that is not a bad thing, although not particularly convincing to the audience (men who require to be convinced attractive women want them). While cheesy punch lines and excessive hyperbole may work effectively within the printed text, on audio these lines fall short and evoke eye rolls.
